Entertainment sites don't need to be as conservative as business sites, so the range of styles used can be far more imaginative and varied. Probably the most common difference between a mainstream business site and an "alternative" site such as goldentarot.com is the colour of the background. Yep. An independent or alternative site can get away with a black background, whereas corporate sites pretty much have to stick to white or light colours.

I aim for a modern contemporary audience, often using bold 3D graphics, manipulated scans and photographs.

Sites such as ubermole.com and fork-you.com are probably not feasible to build on a commercial basis due to their size and complexity, but the design features and look can be translated easily to smaller projects.

As you can see from my examples, the styles of entertainment sites I've built varies extensively from the 3D dark and mysterious look of ubermole to the no-fuss notepad and typewriter look of my cooking site vegetabulous.com.

Some of my first designs were for bands - these sites vary as much as the style of the bands themselves, from 60's pop to creepy horror looks.
