information architecture - what is is?

Information architecture is the process of file structuring, mapping efficient traffic paths and flows, etc, etc. I was going to write all about it here and then I realised it's way too boring and you don't really care about that stuff.

Just know it exists, right? Someone somewhere takes it very seriously, and on big corporate sites that person gets paid a lot of money to care about it. But they're not very popular at parties.
